Personalised Story Books is an editorial site for parents, grandparents and anyone buying a book for a child they love. We write practical guides about personalised picture books: how they work, which ones suit which age, how to choose a good photo, how to keep a child’s photo private and how to make reading together a highlight of the day.
Who we are
We are the team behind I Am In The Story, an online service that illustrates classic tales — and stories families write themselves — with a child’s own face from a single photo. We spend a lot of time looking at personalised books page by page, ours and other people’s, and we write about what we see.
Our editorial policy
- Disclosure first. Because we make personalised books ourselves, our articles link to I Am In The Story where it is genuinely useful — to show a real example, a story page or how something works. When we describe our own product, we say so.
- Real examples, not mock-ups. The illustrations on this site are real pages from finished books, exactly as the service produced them. The child in our public sample books is not a real child: her photo was generated by AI on purpose, so that no family’s child appears on a public page.
- Accurate and sourced. When we mention research, we name it and link to or cite the source. When something is our opinion, we make that clear.
- Kept up to date. Articles show the date they were last updated. We revise them when products, prices or advice change.
- Safety and privacy. We never publish a child’s photo without permission, and our privacy advice applies to every service — including ours.
Languages
We publish in English and translate our most useful guides into German, French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Swedish, Danish and Norwegian. Every translated article links to the matching page of I Am In The Story in the same language.
